Missile Protector

iPhone · AR or on screen

A battle on your table. Get the convoy home.

A small battlefield appears on your table or floor. A convoy sets off for the outpost and machines come in from every side to stop it. Tap the board where you want a missile to land: it leaves your phone, arcs down and hits that spot a moment later.

A desert board seen from above: four blue convoy trucks on a winding road, a violet ring around a group of orange rotor machines, a gun tower going up in smoke, and a tank and a carrier to the right.

How it plays

Tap, and it lands there

Place the board

On a table or the floor, sized to fit. No table nearby? Play it on screen.

Tap to fire

The missile leaves your phone and lands where you tapped about half a second later. Lead the fast ones.

Mind the blast

Everything inside the ring is hit, your own trucks too. Land it just beyond the machine, not on the truck.

Bring them home

One star for arriving, two for arriving with every vehicle, three for keeping them healthy.

Eighty levels

Five regions, each its own board

Sixteen levels in each, and every level has a twist of its own: machines from one side or from both at once, a heavy last stretch, three big attacks, towers along the road, a sprint or the long way round. Roads grow longer and twistier, convoys grow to four vehicles, and new machines keep arriving. Each region has its own colours, its own scenery and its own studio around the board.

The Farmland board: green fields, wheat and tilled strips, red roofs and a barn, the road winding to the outpost.
Farmlandlevels 1 to 16
The River Country board: a blue river crossed by a bridge, fields and cottages.
River Countrylevels 17 to 32
The Highlands board: dry grass, red mesas topped with pines, a raider under a missile ring.
Highlandslevels 33 to 48
The Winter Pass board: snow, dark pines and a road that zigzags up to the outpost.
Winter Passlevels 49 to 64
The Dune Road board: sand, sandstone mesas and a long switchback road.

Your arsenal

Seventeen missiles, pick three

Choose three before each level, the way you pick an army before a battle. Each has its own colour on the board: its band, its trail and the ring where it will land. You always know what is in the air.

Standard

Two ready and quick to reload. The everyday missile.

Cluster

Splits over the target into bomblets that land in a ring. Clears a crowd.

Heavy

A big blast, slow to arrive. Stops a tank in one hit. Mind your trucks.

Earned as you go. Fourteen more come with wins, one every five levels, or can be had early. Each does its job its own way.

Hawk

A small aircraft circles overhead. Tap a machine and its missile follows it down.

Level 5

Chain

Hits, then a spark jumps on to three more machines close by.

Level 10

Airburst

Bursts in the air. A huge ring that clears skimmers.

Level 15

Napalm

Leaves fire on the ground that burns anything crossing it, trucks too.

Level 20

Salvo

Five small rockets in a line, down a road or a column.

Level 25

Mine

Lies in wait on the ground and goes off when a machine comes near.

Level 30

Bunker

Drills in, then one huge hit. A warden's shield does not help.

Level 35

EMP

Stops every machine in a wide ring, and leaves them easier to hit.

Level 40

Swarm

Splits into six small rockets that each chase a machine.

Level 45

Barrage

Four shells land around the spot, one after another.

Level 50

Vortex

Drags the machines in its ring together, then goes off in the middle.

Level 60

Lance

A beam straight across the board, through every machine in line.

Level 70

Two look after the convoy. Tap a truck instead of a machine.

Aegis

Puts a shield over one of your trucks that soaks up the next hits.

Level 55

Mender

Repairs one of your trucks, a little at a time.

Level 65

Upgrade as you go. Give a missile one more round in its magazine or a harder hit, once per missile each level. Every level gives you a free upgrade, and you start with five more. Extra upgrades come in packs of ten.

The enemy

The Rust

Machines of a made-up faction, orange with glowing yellow eyes. No real country, no people, just machines. Each new one comes alone first, and the tough ones show how many hits they take.

Skimmer

Hovers in low on four rotors. Slow, but comes in groups.

Raider

A fast buggy that paces your trucks. Aim where it will be.

Launcher

Digs in at long range and lobs rockets. Find it first.

Brute

A heavy tank whose turret finds its own target. Two Standard hits, or one Heavy.

Gun tower

Stands by the road from the start. Clear it before the convoy drives past.

Warden

Throws a shield over the machines around it. Take it out first.

Carrier

Stops at a distance and lets out skimmers until it is destroyed.

Tougher later

From the middle of Winter Pass, armoured machines take one more hit.

Yours

The convoy

Scout

Leads the way, turret turning to whatever comes close.

Hauler

The cargo truck. A bigger target.

Tanker

Carries fuel, so it goes up in a bigger fireball.
